X'Mas Gifts

Jaguar. The new OS X 10.2 would be my X'mas gift for myself. I need to upgrade to Jaguar by the following reasons:
- In the coming year, I will replace my Siemens 6688 cell phone. And I would like to buy a new one with color LCD, and idealy with Bluetooth. Unfortunately, iSync could only be run in Jaguar.
- OpenOffice
could not run on 10.1. - The next version of Fink
only supports Jaguar.
- Improved SMB networking. My punknix box also runs samba, it will eases file sharing on my iBook.
It also enable me to access iBook files from my PC desktop. - Technically, as Jaguar integrated FreeBSD 4.4 codebase, comparing with 3.2 codebase that 10.1 uses,
there should be some significant improvement in performance, especially in VM area.
Another feature included is POSIX API, and it supports re-entrant C library calls. It makes
the porting easier.
Many reasons related to the coming/recent applications could not run on 10.1. What a great
strategy from Apple. But HK$1,000 price tag is very much to me.
I need to find the discount somewhere else.
